This large four story farmhouse, located in the northeast corner of South Dakota near the small farming community of Hecla, and only 40 miles from the city of Aberdeen, was built in 1913 and converted to a lodge in the 1940’s.
Renovated in 2005, it now combines the convenience of modern technology with its old farmhouse charm. Known as a first class hunting lodge during the fall it is now available year round, and is a perfect site for family get-together’s, reunions, fund raisers and corporate functions.
The basement is the recreation center, with a pool table, game tables, plasma TVs, bar and walk in cooler.
The main floor has a large kitchen, dining rooms, library, and two TV rooms. A large “mud room” has storage lockers for guests to leave their gear.
The bedroom level has fifteen bedrooms with two beds each. Eight rooms have private bathrooms. Each room also offers DSL Internet access.
The fourth floor known as the “dorm” has nine beds with half wall dividers every two beds. There are two bathrooms on this floor.
Heated concrete floors under dark forest green carpeting keeps you cozy in the winter and central air conditioning cools you in the summer. A walk in freezer and huge BBQ, enables us to accommodate large parties easily. We serve family style meals with hearty breakfasts, dinner at noon and supper featuring pheasant, beef or pork. You’ll enjoy home baked pies, fruits and vegetables from the garden and the cookie jar that’s always full!
